The private guest cottage, fits snugly into a hillside and herb garden and was built in 1986 as a home for Elsah's grandma with a panoramic view of mountain, meadow and sky. Cort Cottage is found at the end of a rural road, adjacent to the Case Mountain public land area of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), where hiking, mountain biking and exploring is welcomed. The cottage offers a queen-size bed, a full-size futon sofa in the living room, a fully equipped kitchen, a private bath with a step-down tile tub, a TV with DVD player, a stereo with CD player, an outdoor deck with shade umbrella, and a carefully selected library of books and games. Known as the Mesa Verde Citrus Plantation over 100 years ago, the original house, built in 1880 out of large rocks gathered from the Kaweah River, is still standing next to the 4,300 square foot plantation home. The lush grounds that surround the home sport sweeping lawns, many huge ornamental trees including weeping willows, palms and crepe myrtles, fruit trees,shrubs and flowers. Adirondack chairs, loungers, a glider, and a large Jacuzzi hot tub allow you to relax and enjoy the birds and butterflies in a very peaceful setting. The swimming pool and Jacuzzi are open 24 hours a day, with the pool available spring to fall and the Jacuzzi year round.
